Historian & novelist
Charles Searle
Charles Searle writes historical thrillers shaped by a lifelong fascination with the people, politics and moral choices that led Europe into the Second World War.
Biography
Charles’s love of history was kindled at an early age by a passionate teacher who fired his imagination with epic tales of the adventures of Peter the Great and Napoleon. As an academic historian, he wrote articles for specialist journals before spending his career in various branches of education.
He has now returned to writing about his first love—history—but this time in the form of fiction. The Dark Years trilogy begins with The Hooded Man and continues with Crossing the Lines.
